My Real Estate Philosophy

As a real estate agent for several years, I have modeled my business as a consulting business, recognizing that payment is still commission based in the majority of transactions.  I believe that the real estate brokerage industry still has a huge problem in that most agent training is sales based.  The law in most states clearly expects the agent to work in the client's best interest, at all times and with regard to every aspect of the service.  The agent must subordinate any desire to close a sale to the true best interests of the client.  It should not surprise any agent that such is also the expectation of the consumer.  A motto I have used with my real estate clients is "Advice and counsel before a transaction."  I seek to educate my client fully, so that he or she can make the best decision, which may be not to buy or sell at this time.  This principle has created tremendous satisfaction and loyalty in my past clients.

I perform all my real estate training and coaching from the perspective detailed above.  My goals for my training and coaching are to produce competent agents first, then productive, successful agents.  I combine knowledge of real estate law, rules and process with my experience in residential, commercial and investment real estate transactions to build competence.  I then apply personal development principles to help agents become successful.

While I may advise and coach agents in personal marketing, I do not focus on that area specifically.  There are way too many training providers already focused on personal marketing, and many of them deliver a quality service.  What I will do is help an agent consider various means of prospecting and select those that suit the agent's personality and resources, followed by productivity coaching and accountability to make sure that the agent implements the systems chosen.
